MVP – Matt Ryan

Quarterback Matt Ryan elevated his play to an MVP level as he finished atop of several quarterback statistical categories including: first in average yards per attempt (9.3), first in quarterback rating (117.1), second in completion percentage (69.9), second in total yards (4,944) and yards per game (309), and second in touchdowns (38).

Last year, in offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan’s first season with the team, Ryan didn’t fully agree with Shanahan on the scheme that he envisioned, but in year two both were on the same page as Ryan seamlessly powered the Falcons offense. Whether it was finding Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu, the two-headed running back core of Devonta Freeman, the emerging play of Taylor Gabriel and Aldrick Robinson, or the big tight ends and fullback, the possibilities were endless to accompany Ryan.
