The Atlanta Falcons enjoyed a successful 2016 regular season in which they finished 11-5 and winners of the NFC South Division for the first time since 2012, posting a record of 5-1 in divisional games against the Carolina Panthers (2-0), New Orleans Saints (2-0) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1). The Falcons under second-year head coach Dan Quinn averaged a league-leading 33.8 points per game. In total, the 504 points scored for the season is tied for seventh-best all time with the 2000 St. Louis Rams.
