Using Easely, a web tool that allows users to create infographics, I created the following visuals to highlight Super Bowl 51 viewership and the comparison of the Atlanta Falcons’ new stadium vs. the old one.

Super Bowl 51 generated 111.3 million viewers, ranking top five in most-watched Super Bowls. That mark was slightly down from the previous Super Bowl which garnered an average audience of 111.9 million viewers on CBS, but fans weren’t treated to a lopsided game like Super Bowl 50 between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos. In fact, viewership would’ve been lower had it not been for Lady Gaga’s highly anticipated halftime show.

The Atlanta Falcons will be debuting the 2018-19 season in the brand new, state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz Stadium. With construction currently at its final stages, the $1.6-billion architectural-phenomenon is a complete upgrade from the Georgia Dome. Though costly, the breathtaking stadium will offer concessions cheaper than any other professional sports venue.
